A Tucson family business that grew one neighbor at a time
Rosa Villanueva started Sagebrook at her dining table in 2011. Today our bilingual team still works the same way: patiently and in person.
Why we started Sagebrook
When Rosa's parents turned 65 in Nogales, the mailbox filled with glossy brochures and the phone rang with sales calls. Nobody sat down and explained how it all fit together, in Spanish, without pressure. So Rosa, then a benefits manager at a Tucson hospital, did it herself.
Word spread through church, the neighborhood and her parents' friends. By 2011 she had a license, a desk on East Broadway and a waiting list. The name comes from the sagebrush and brook near her grandparents' ranch: something humble, steady and green in dry country.
Today we are a team of nine, with offices in Tucson and Green Valley, serving more than 6,400 clients across Pima and Cochise counties. We still make kitchen-table visits, still answer our own phones, and still call every client before Annual Enrollment starts.
